New Rack End to fit Jeep Cherokee KJ Series Power Steering Racks from 9/04 to 12/2007.
In vehicle applications like the Jeep Cherokee, unfortunately if you try to purchase new rack ends from a Jeep dealership, the only way that they sell the new Rack Ends is with a complete new steering rack assembly and the bad news is that this can cost between $2100 to $3200 depending on your model.
Please Note – This Series of Jeep Cherokee has different Racks an early version (9/01 to 8/04) and a later version (9/04 to 12/07), both versions rack assembles are interchangeable through the range. However the Rack Ends are different they have different threads on the end that screw into the main shaft on the rack. If your rack has is the original unit then you should have the Rack End that we list but in some vehicles to get the correct part you may need to measure your thread sizes.
Our Rack End (Part No P685) that we have listed for the 9/04 to 12/2007 (later models) have a 18mm OD thread on the rack shaft end (Inner End).
Our Rack End (Part No P633) that we have listed for the 9/01 to 8/2004 (early models) have a 24mm OD thread on the rack shaft end (Inner End).
To ensure you are ordering the correct Rack End please check your vehicle to confirm the inner thread sizes.
