Motorsport

To help us maintain the “Ultimate” in performance and quality of our steering units, we support our customers participating in different forms of motorsport.

Mark Crespan's Cobra with Electric Power Steering Fitted

Photo above – Mark Crespan in his Cobra. Mark is running a Basic Motorsport – Electric Power Assist Steering (EPAS) System with an Ultra ECU in his car. This ECU is a programmable unit, it simply plugs into the Basic Motorsport – EPAS motor and allows Mark to adjust individual steering efforts and allows a full range of adjustment. This has helped mark to break records in his class. This system has been developed for all sorts of motorsport applications. Drag-Racing.

 

Ben Hunt's Twin Turbo 20B Mazda RX7 Drag Car.
Photo above – Ben Hunt’s – Twin Turbo 20B Mazda Rotary RX7 Drag Car. Ben’s best ¼ mile time so far is 8.20 @ 172 Mph (276 Kph).  Ben is the owner of Rotary Motorsport a performance Rotary workshop based at Brendale on the north-side of Brisbane.  Ben’s Mazda 20B engine runs twin GT35R Turbo’s and is pumping out over 1000HP at the wheels. Click Here to visit the rotarymotorsport web site.   This car has an Ultimate Power Steering Modified Manual Steering rack, Ultimate Power Steering Front Adjustable shock-absorbers and other modified parts to keep it steering in a straight line, this is critical for this form of motorsport.

Gary Goulding's Ford Escort Race Car

Brian Caylton’s Ford GT Falcon Race Car.
 

Photo above – Brian Caylton’s – Ford GT Falcon V8 Club Car – Ultimate Power Steering has converted the original Power Steering Pump to one of our Saginaw Power Steering Pump conversions. We did this because the original Ford Pump was very noisy and it could not keep the steering system functioning correctly.

Speedway.

Ken Samway's Formula Stock Rod No 21
Photo above – Ken Samway’s – Formula Stock rod No 21. Ken’s Stock Rod is running another Ultimate Power Steering Hi-flow Power Steering Pump. This Pump has been modified to achieve the high flow that is required for the quick change in steering direction required for speedway. Ken is also running an Ultimate Power Steering Modifyed Power Steering Box.   Congratulations go to Ken as he is now the 2010 Australian Speedway Champion for Formula Stock Rod.

 

Andrew Wedd's - Allbrand Wrecking AMCAR Speedway Car

Andrew’s AMCAR has a high flow Power Steering Pump along with a Power Steering Box that also has been modified by Ultimate Power Steering, to make the steering effort lighter to allow Andrew to steer the car easer to help with the quick change in steering direction required for speedway.
