In most steering systems with a steering rack fitted the steering rack can suffer from wear & tear. As the vehicle gets older and the kilometers traveled increases the most common replacement part of the steering rack is the Rack Ends.
If the Rack Ends wear, this allows movement in the inner joint commonly called “Rack End End-Float”. This can affect the tyre wear and the driving “Feel” of the vehicle due to this movement in the Rack Ends.
The Rack Ends on this model can be replaced by simply un-screwing them from the main steering rack shaft and then installing the new Rack Ends.
