Product Description
New Rack End to fit Nissan / Datsun 240Z and 260Z Manual Steering Racks ranging from 5/74 to 12/1978.
The Nissan / Datsun 240Z and 260Z were manufactured from 5/1974 to 12/1978. The wear on the steering racks, and rack ends can be excessive, depending on how each vehicle has been driven.
In applications like the Nissan / Datsun 240Z and 260Z there was no after-market rack end available, so the only option to repair the wear in the rack end was to try to re-shim the inner race end seat, this is a long and difficult process made even harder by the fact that the factory Rack End was spot-welded together.
This in mind Ultimate Power Steering has a new-designed one-piece replacement Rack End.
Please Note – Original Racks have 2 different threads on the Outer Tie Rod Threads.
The Right Hand Side Rack End has a Right Hand Thread for the Right Hand outer Tie Rod End and the Left Hand Side Rack End has a LH thread for the Left Hand outer Tie Rod End. The internal Thread is the same Just the Outer Tie Rod Threads are different.
Please Note - The LHS Rack End is NO LONGER AVAILABLE, so to fix this you will need to purchase 2 of the RH Rack Ends and fit them to both the RHS and the LHS of the steering Rack. Then install a New RH Tie Rod End to the LHS of the rack with our New RHS Rack End fitted, if that makes sense!! The most Common Industry Part Number for the NEW RHS Tie Rod End is TE-860R this can be purchased from most Suspension Component Specialists…
Our new after-market rack ends have been manufactured as a direct replacement to the original Rack End, but with a better design that allows the easy fitment to the Nissan / Datsun 240Z and 260Z Steering Racks.
Our replacement is a simple screw-on and lock design so there is no fiddly adjustments required unlike the original design.
Our new Rack End for the Nissan / Datsun 240Z and 260Z are on the shelf ready for dispatch. If your 240Z or 260Z has steering issues the Rack Ends are most likely the problem and there is now a solution.
